You'll find yourself surrounded by the sights and sounds of the bush, with opportunities for game drives right from your doorstep.

For couples seeking a romantic and exclusive escape, properties within the reserve provide a secluded setting. Imagine waking up to the sounds of birds and enjoying breakfast with panoramic views of the plains, followed by guided walks to Sheldrick Falls or evening game drives.

The best time to visit Shimba Hills National Reserve is during the cooler, dry seasons, specifically from June to October and January to February.

These months offer clearer skies and less humidity, making wildlife viewing more comfortable and enjoyable. The drier conditions mean animals tend to congregate around water sources, which can make them easier to spot. It's also a good time for walking safaris to Sheldrick Falls as the trails are less muddy.

For travellers who enjoy comfortable weather and want to maximise their chances of seeing wildlife, especially the rare sable antelope, these dry periods are ideal.
